In a session of the Knesset’s Internal Affairs and Environment Committee, MK Aryeh Eldad said that a culture of lies has spread throughout the police, criticizing police conduct during the evacuation of the Havat Gilad outpost. MK Dov Khenin said he was disturbed by similar conduct against demonstrators in Bil’in.

According to “Honenu”, a 21-year old resident of Havat Gilad was arrested today at Tapuah junction, when police detectives pulled over the vehicle in which he was traveling, and when Honenu lawyer Yehuda Shimon arrived at the Ariel police station, a police officer named Gil Desha informed him that he had taken out an order barring the detainee from meeting with a lawyer.

In the Havat Gilad outpost that was razed last week, the razed structures were rebuilt, and preparations were made for the construction of four additional structures. According to the Palestinian residents of the nearby village of Jit, the lands being prepared for construction by the Jewish settlers is Palestinian-owned.

In the wake of the dismantling of the Havat Gilad outpost, the “Derekh Khayim” (way/path of life) movement [the translator could not find an official English name or any website for this group] has distributed flyers to IDF soldiers, titled “Jews love Jews, the commanders are making us into haters”. The commander of Samaria brigade base has ordered his soldiers not to leave the base, for fear they may be beaten.
