Non-Haredi religious Zionists serve in the Shahar program, a special IDF track for the integration of Haredi men. The program allows Haredi men who have not matriculated in English and mathematics to acquire basic skills and improve their employment options after their release. Many of them are now rejected in favour of religious Zionists.

Unknown persons set fire to an archeological site near Afula in the north of Israel. A container of archeological findings was burnt along with much of its contents. The Israeli Antiquities Authority think that the perpetrator were Haredi jews.

A leak in a central water pipe left hundreds of residents in Ashdod without water since last night. Municipality workers who came to fix the pipe met with aggressive resistance from Haredi residents living nearby who opposed the works taking place on Shabbat. The workers decided to postpone repair work until the end of Shabbat and deliver water tanks to residents instead.
