The Ministry of Justice silently admitted that Israel Security Agency (AKA Shabak) agents tortured Mahawash al-Qadi, a resident of Rafah and a member of the Hamas’ military wing, in an attempt to find the whereabouts of kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. Al-Qadi did not possess that information.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced last night that Israel has begun to aggravate the conditions of Palestinian security prisoners held in Israel, in order to pressure Hamas to allow Red Cross visits to captured soldier Gilad Shalit.

In a session of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, the IDF Chief of General Staff, Gen. Benny Gantz, said that “any public debate regarding the way to bring Gilad Shalit back is improper; discussions regarding this must remain in closed forums.”
