Rishon LeZion Gay Pride Parade organizer Ishai Rotman says that the municipality did not support the event. He said, “I called the City even before Passover, and then they told me to come after the Holiday. Then they said that I should contact the municipality, which I did. But then the staff of the deputy City manager told us that we were late, we needed to apply for support four months in advance , so they couldn’t help us”. Aryeh Cohen, a Deputy Mayor from the Shas orthodox party, said that “the city must not to support them, nor any other authority, but the Ministry of Health.”
