Jerusalem’s Prosecutor’s Office will cancel all charges against Udai Biomi, Resident of the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Beit Hanina, who was held for 21 days on charges of aggravated assault of a police officer based on the testimony of two Border Police officers.  CCTV footage shown in the courtroom revealed that it was actually Biomi who was assaulted by the officers. A reporter for the Maariv newspaper filmed police vehicles parked in a disabled-only parking space near the Rishon LeZion police station. One of the police officers cited the reporter for obstruction to traffic, although the reporter claims that there was no traffic in the street during that time.

The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court has acquitted a left-wing activist indicted for causing a disturbance and assaulting police officers during a demonstration in East Jerusalem a year and a half ago.  The judge harshly criticized the police for their conduct in the case, stating that the officers were untruthful during the investigation and in court.
