Military and Security Forces: May 11, 2011
Military judge Maj. Sharon Keinan ordered to extend the detention of a 15 year old Palestinian of Bil’in by five more days, because hearings were not held at the Ofer base military court, during Memorial Day and Independence Day. The boy is suspected of throwing stones. At the beginning of the hearing the boy claimed that the soldiers assaulted him when he was arrested; “They kicked me, attacked me. There was a lot of blood. My head is also bruised. A military medic treated me.”

Police: 12 January, 2011
This weekend the police arrested Eli Buhbut, 20, of Netanya, after he attacked a doctor at Laniado hospital. Local Magistrate’s Court Judge Hadas Ovadia denied the police request to retain Buhbut under arrest until proceedings are complete. She permitted the police to delay Buhbut’s release by one day, in order to file an appeal to the Petach Tikva District Court. However, instead of filing an appeal, the police filed charges with the Petach Tikva Court, and the hearing was held before Justice Ovadia.
