The Jerusalem Municipality Planning and Construction Committee approved two construction plans in East Jerusalem, beyond the Green Line. 92 housing units are planned for the Talpiot Mizrach neighborhood and 32 more units are planned for the Pisgat Zeev neighborhood. According city council chair of the Likud, Adv. Elisha Peleg, there is no importance to the fact that the 124 housing units will be constructed beyond the Green Line, “because it is obvious that the only available reserves of land in Jerusalem are beyond the historical Green Line.”

A meeting of the Jerusalem Local Committee authorized the construction of 30 apartments in the Pisgat Ze’ev settlement, despite the fact that applications to construct 452 housing units were on the agenda. According to committee member Elisha Peleg, “the considerations for not authorizing all units in a single decision is due to concern about the American response.”
