The Knesset Education and Culture Committee approved for first reading a bill that applies the museum law to Jewish settlements. If the bill will be accepted, 15 museum on the West bank will be able to receive state funding.

Member of Knesset Alex Miller (“Yisrael Beitenu”), chairman of the Knesset Education and Culture Committee, proposed a bill to amend the state Criminal Code, so that a person convicted of assisting a terrorist organization, who speaks in an educational institution without receiving previous approval from the Minister of Education, in consultation with the Justice Minister, shall be liable to imprisonment of 18 months.

A report of the Knesset Research and Information Center states that the rate of matriculation graduates among the Ethiopian community is 42%, versus 64% among the other Jewish students. The report also states that there is a tendency to turn Ethiopian students in certain educational institutions, and consequently there are about 100 educational institutions where Ethiopian community students are the majority.
