According to a Palestinian from the village of Nabi Saleh, he was attacked by settlers following his arrest in the weekly demonstration in the village, while soldiers who were nearby did not intervene.  The Popular Committee spokesman, Jonathan Pollak, said that the soldiers continued to fire gas canisters directly at protesters, despite the killing of Mustafa Tamimi only last week from a gas canister directly aimed at him.

At least 13 cases of firing gas canisters directly aimed at Palestinian protesters and left-wing activists have been documented since the death of Bassam Abu-Rahme in Bil’in, despite the IDF having promised to refine the procedures for the firing of tear gas canisters.  Investigations of these cases usually end without any operative decisions. Some of the cases are not investigated at all.
