Despite an order issued by the Civil Administration last week, unknown individuals have continued construction work at the Ein al-Qaws spring near the villages of Nabi Salih and Dir Nizam.

The Civil Administration is preventing Palestinians residing in Dir Nizam, for a year now, from access to the spring which waters their fields, claiming the place is an archeological site. This, despite the fact the place was never declared as such, and it’s unclear whether any artifacts were found there. The judge advocate explained the decision, saying that “an historical site may be considered an historical site even if it was never declared a an historical site”. (Hebrew)
