A soldier convicted of raping a femal soldier in an Air Force base in the north of Israel was released today from custody due to procedural mistakes.

A woman from Bangladesh who entered Israel through the Lebanese border after having been physically and emotionally abused by her Lebanese employers was held in an Israeli prison for two months without a hearing because the Population and Immigration Authority delayed dealing with her case.  The woman was imprisoned in the Kishon Prison, a criminal detention center, and later transferred to the Givon Prison where illegal residents are held.
