MK David Rotem (Israel Beitenu), the Chairman of the Constitution, Law and Justice Committee held a speedy vote on a proposed bill which would allow the appointment of Justice Asher Grunis as President of the Supreme Court. The vote was held within 3 minutes of the meetings commencement, and before the opposition MKs entered the committee room.

During the deliberations in the Knesset’s Constitution, Law and Justice Committee regarding the bill to change the composition of the Judicial Selection Committee, a vote was taken on the bill after it was surprisingly changed at the last minute; no discussion was held on the new version of the bill. During the heated debate that unfolded, five opposition MKs were thrown out of the room and committee chairman MK David Rotem (Yisrael Beitenu) even went so far as to tell MK Zehava Gal-On (Meretz): “Get out of here, you’re not even an animal”.
