MK Yariv Levin (Likud) says that Supreme Court of Justice has no authority to invalidate Knesset legislation, because Israel does not have a constitution, nor constitutional principals, which authorize Supreme Court’s intervention.

Attorney General, Yehuda Weinstein, is expected to defend the new “Boycott Law” in the appeal to Supreme Court of Justice, although his position is that the law is marginally unconstitutional, and brings up many difficulties. The Knesset’s legal adviser, Eyal Yinon, will also defend the law, despite submitting to the Knesset his legal opinion, that the law may not stand the test of the High Court.
