Slippery Slope

Internal Security: June 14, 2012

Yesterday, the Jerusalem District Court acquitted five East Jerusalem residents aged 15-18 of participation in disturbances of the peace in the village of Silwan in March 2011, after having spent a year and a quarter in jail or house arrest.  During the trial, numerous discrepancies were found between what was heard in interrogation tapes and what the investigators later reported, and that in cases where there were no recordings, the transcripts the investigators prepared after the fact were partial and misleading.
