According to the state and Israeli Medical Association, even though the labor law which limits a work shift to a maximum of 12 hours applies to interns as well, a medical doctor’s duty roster is not considered as part of the “working hours” according to the law, and thus the limitations mentioned in the law do not apply to hospital interns.
