Slippery Slope

Notes From a Crumbling Democracy

Military and Security Forces: December 12, 2011

A military court has ordered the release of a soldier, a resident of the Adi-Ad outpost, who was arrested last week on suspicion of taking part, while in uniform, in a protest against the eviction of an outpost.  The court’s decision was without any conditions and without holding a debate on the matter.  This is the second case of a soldier being released following the arrest of three soldiers last week on suspicion of vandalizing IDF vehicles and conducting hate crimes.
