John Ging, the UN’s chief of operations in Gaza, said that only a few of the Strip’s residents felt any relief in the Gaza siege. According to Ging, “The ‘easing’, as it was called, is nothing more than a political easing of the pressure on Israel and Egypt”. The spokesman of the Foreign Ministry, Yigal Palmor, said that the UN ignores Hamas’ overtaking of the Strip. According to Palmor, “Why are there problems with export, and sometimes import, of goods to Gaza? Why is the border closed? Because a terror organization took over the Strip.” (Hebrew)
