A leak in a central water pipe left hundreds of residents in Ashdod without water since last night. Municipality workers who came to fix the pipe met with aggressive resistance from Haredi residents living nearby who opposed the works taking place on Shabbat. The workers decided to postpone repair work until the end of Shabbat and deliver water tanks to residents instead.
