The Knesset assembly approved, in first reading, the “frisking bill”, according to which police will have the authority to search a person’s body, clothes, and personal effects for illegally possessed concealed weapons, if the police have reasonable cause to suspect said person will behave violently. Likewise, the law proposal increases police authority and seeks to enable them to search in places with an increased risk of violent incidents, such as pubs and nightclubs.
