The Knesset (Israeli parliament) today approved an amendment to the Israel Lands Law. The amendment restricts the purchase and transfer of rights on lands, for those defined as “foreigners.” The amendment stipulates that in the process of the approval of a deal, the Commissioner for the Land Administration, should consider “the benefit and security of the public, the linkage of the foreigner to the State of Israel, the purpose of the application,” and so forth.
