The former IDF attaché in Switzerland, Colonel (Res.) Shmuel Avivi, has been indicted with accepting bribes and breach of trust. According to the indictment, Avivi was assisting in the promotion of Swiss arms dealer Heinrich Thomet, owner of a company that manufactures arms and provides security equipment to the Swiss military and police forces, as well as other companies providing equipment procured in East Europe to the US military forces in Iraq, and provided assistance in marketing security equipment in exchange for personal perks.
