The advocacy group ‘Adala appealed to the Supreme Court of Justice, representing 70 parents and pupils of the unrecognized village Sawavin in the Negev, demanding an available educational frame work for 350 elementary school children. The children of Sawavin do not study since the beginning of the school year, since the local council of Segev Shalom and the Ministry of Education decided to transfer them to elementary schools in the villages of Al A’asem and Abu Tlul, which are 20 kilometers away from the village and whose classes are acutely crowded.
