The military reporter for Channel 10 news, Or Heller, had received death threats following the publication of the recording of a conversation between Lt. Colonel Shalom Eisner and Hagit Rhein, mother of Major Benaya Rhein who was killed during the Second Lebanon War, in which Eisner sharply attacked the IDF Chief of Staff. “In the last few days I’ve received death threats,” said Heller, “I’ve had calls and hang-ups, received emails with assorted wishes that I die in one way or another. They call me a Nazi”. Over the last few days there has been a few publications by, among others, the Latma website and the My Israel movement, who launched a viral internet video against him. At the same time, a petition was initialized, asking to expel Heller from his position.

Minister of Environmental Protection Gilad Erdan (MK Likud) said in a Kol Israel interview that “evicting the Ulpana neighborhood is a command that is impossible to follow, it won’t be executed”, following the High Court of Justice’s decision to evict the neighborhood until May 1st. Erdan had expressed his support to expropriate the authority of Minister of Defense Ehud Barak (MK Ha’Atzmaut) in matters of settlements. Meanwhile, Barak had said that “we have found 2.2 Hectares in Beit El on which we could build alternative housing if necessary”.

According to Investigative Military Police’s investigation, a few other officers besides Lieutenant Colonel Shalom Eisner – who was filmed hitting a Danish activist in the face using his rifle, unprovoked, during a West Bank protest – acted with unnecessary violence during the protest and damaged protesters’ belongings without any reason.
