Settlers threw stones at Palestinian vehicles on road 60 near Ramat Migron in the Binyamin area of the West Bank, smashing one of the vehicles’ windows.

A recent Ministry of Education questionnaire distributed recently at elementary schools contains questions about the degree of the students’ belief in God.  The questionnaire states that affinity to religion could cure disease and improve quality of life.  When approached for a comment, the Ministry replied that the questionnaire has been removed from circulation.

Only six firemen man the Sderot fire station, which is supposed to respond to fires in Sderot and the Regional Councils of Shaar HaNegev, Yoav, and Hof Ashkelon.  According to Fire and Rescue Service regulations, a fire station watch needs to include a team of five firemen, but the Sderot fire station has only two firemen per watch.  The firemen claim that the fire station is not hardened against rockets, so that they are vulnerable to incoming missiles while on watch.

The Israel Air Force attacked six targets in the Gaza Strip, in response to the firing of rockets at Israel on Wednesday.  Palestinian sources reported that a teenage boy and four year old girl were hurt in one of the attacks.

Among those elected to the Likud convention are, among others: Itai Harel, founder of the Migron outpost; Musa Alperon, who has been a member of the Likud convention since 2002; Meir Bertler; and Meir Goldmintz, head of the Shiru Lamelech yeshiva at the Havat Gilad outpost.  Both Bertler and Goldmintz are facing trial for breaking into the Christian site of Kasr al-Yehud near the Jordan River.  In response, the Likud stated that “the Likud constitution limits the rights of individuals who were convicted of criminal activity to be a member of the party, as well as his right to elect or be elected to the party’s institutions.  The Likud’s election committee will review any cases brought to its attention and decide on them according to the party’s constitution.”

A French national was injured following a direct hit by a gas canister shell during a demonstration in Nabi Saleh.  The IDF spokesperson claimed that the female protester was hit by a stone thrown by Palestinians, but a video of the incident proves otherwise.  The protester was evacuated to a hospital in Ramallah suffering heavy bleeding, but her injury is not considered serious.

During a tour conducted by the Knesset’s Committee for Immigration, Absorption and Diaspora Affairs in South Tel-Aviv, the committee’s chairman, MK Danny Danon (Likud) said that the “infiltrators” living in the area pose a strategic threat to the State of Israel and harm its Jewish character, and therefore should be expelled.
